Create Federal Statute criminalizing the use of Excessive Force under color of authority resulting in injury / death.

Created by M.B. on December 03, 2014

We request that the Obama administration work with Congress to pass a federal law criminalizing excessive use of force by law enforcement. The law would make it a Federal crime when excessive use of force under color of authority results in serious injury and/or death.

Recent events have shown the close relationship between local prosecutors and police officers makes it virtually impossible to hold officers accountable when they use unreasonable and excessive force.

The federal government is responsible to ensure equal protection under the law for all citizens. Currently, law enforcement is receiving special treatment that denies civilians equal protection under the Constitution.
