Create a Federal Tax for the public education system based on the average income of households.

Created by K.L. on December 03, 2012

Creating a federal tax for education based on the income of American citizens would improve the public education system as a whole and would be an equal way for citizens to pay for funding schools.

The lower class who make below 34,000 would pay a 1% tax rate ontop of their income tax.

The middle class who make 34,000-174,000 would pay a 2.5% tax

The upperclass who make 174,000-379,000 and up would have to pay 5% tax.

Using a pro-rating system would allow higher income households to chip in more for the benefit of the american future.

A more educated workforce would be more likely to develop or adopt new technologies, which would lead to higher growth and it would benefit all workers. Higher education would, in the long run reduce poverty and improve the public health care system.
