Create a Federally-subsidized recycling program for the homeless and imprisoned.

Created by B.P. on February 10, 2013

This petition is to request that the Federal government create a program that subsidizes the hiring of the homeless to help with the sorting of recycling as well as the community service of those imprisoned. There are several benefits to a program such as this:

1) Homeless, many of whom struggle to find any sort of income, can work and earn a wage which is at least the federal minimum wage working to sort recycling and serve their communities.
2) This will reduce the homeless and unemployed population by creating jobs for these individuals.
3) Those imprisoned will be serving their community as a form of community service.
4) Protection of our national resources and environment.
5) Reduction in size of our landfills.
6) Introduction of additional jobs and taxes from processing plants.
