Created by K.B. on January 13, 2013

Financial Freedom living wage act
Tied to inflation
Fair market rent 30% of income; rents capped at 30% of average income for area. --Creates affordable housing no matter the income.

Living wage is defined as 130 percent of the Federal Poverty Standard for a family of four

($13.78 per hour for 2009) or, if the employer provides basic health insurance benefits then it is equal to 110 percent of the federal poverty rate for a family of four ($11.66 per hour for 2009)(http://www.minneapolismn.gov/CPED/living_wage.asp).

This living wage will:
-Allow more working people more opportunity to live without government assistance.
- Strengthen homes, communities and country because parents have more time at home with kids.

This should be mandated on a federal level, superseding state law.
