With the recent massive issues with the healthcare.gov website, it's clear that we need a central government department with oversight and control over the technological infrastructure needed to run our government.
The Department of Technology will oversee technology projects for government agencies, and ensure that the technology used throughout government is built to the same standards, and can communicate with each other easily through robust and secure APIs.
The Department of Technology will have internal project management teams, consisting of product and project managers, UI/X designers, software engineers, IT hardware architects, and the gamut of other positions needed to build and manage successful web applications for the various government agencies.
