In the last 120 years only two Presidents have failed to create a new National Park, and since the 1890's the longest stretch between the creation of a new National Park is just over 12 years, making this the second longest.
There are worthy candidates:
-Big South Fork
-San Rafael Swell
-Chiricahua
-Colorado (National Monument)
-Craters of the Moon
-El Malpais
-Dinosaur
-Hell's Canyon
-Jewel Cave
-Lava Beds
-Mojave
-Mount St. Helens
-Vermillion Cliffs
-Organ Pipe Cactus
-Owyhee Canyonlands
-Maine North Woods
-Pictured Rocks
-Pinnacles
-Valles Caldera
-White Sands
These sites are protected by the federal government (except Maine North Woods, where a private citizen is trying to hand over lands for park creation) and any of them deserves to be elevated to National Park status. Please act.
