Across America, there are nearly 30 million people facing the hardships of student loan debt. This debt has reached a critical point of nearly 1 trillion dollars. Nearly 14% have balances that are past due, with nearly 8 billion dollars in defaulted loans.
Forgiving student loan debt and responding with a universal education program would erase the slate for millions of Americans, providing for more investment into the American economy. It would also make education a right, while encouraging students to maintain focus on Higher Ed studies.
