The purpose of this petition is to send a message of support and appreciation to the FCC for its recent decision to construction a free, nationwide wi-fi network. Such a network would be a tremendous boon to Americans struggling to find gainful employment during these trying economic times and reduce the costs of operating small businesses. This system would increase the rate of innovation by putting more people in contact with one another so that they can better share ideas and collaborate on projects. In addition, if constructed properly, the robust communication system that would result from a nationwide wi-fi network would contribute to national security by ensuring parallel lines of communication.
