Given that technology and globalization are marching forward, it is inevitable that manufacturing, agricultural, resource extraction and unskilled/low-skilled service sector jobs will slowly disappear from America, either as a result of outsourcing, self-service schemes or automation.
The only areas of employment to survive this shift in our national economy will be highly skilled, highly educated service sector jobs, as well as research and development.
Given our system of higher education requires students to pay in order to participate, it is not reasonable to believe that even with scholarships and loans that all students who wish to attain a higher education may do so.
Creating free education on the Federal level would relieve students and promote the growth of the economy.
