Our immigration court system per se, is the stepchild of all judiciary components within our federal government. The current courts operate under a system dating back to the 20th century and is not fully independent and funded unlike the district or even tax courts. The executive office for immigration review, an agency within the depot. of justice, comprises over 200 overworked and not bias-free immigration judges who must struggle with a six figure caseload increasing per year. Our administration and congress must take a look to this petition in order to create a fully independent system that allows for expedited, unbiased, and most importantly, counsel-guaranteed trials.
