Create Gladiator rings as punishment for heinous crimes.

Think of the funds the government would be able to raise if we instate this. There would be many upsides to bringing Gladiators back.

1. More revenue for the government: If the federal government were to regulate this, and built coliseums and the like, they could charge prices for entry (say, $10 for a day’s worth of fights, maybe more, who knows?), charge prices for concessions, etc. etc. We would get more cash inflow, which could help gain control of our spiraling debt.

2. It would deter major crime: Obviously, petty thieves would not be forced into the coliseum, because their offense is minor. But for murder and other seriously heinous crimes where the penalty can be 25 to life, I think many people would be deterred from wanting to kill someone in the first place. Why kill someone, ju
