A tax credit will be given to parent(s) who are current on court ordered child support and payments and no arrears including fees and penalties exist.
The tax credit percentage will be 10% of what the "good parent" paid for current year court ordered amount. Additional payments for prior year arrears, fees, and penalties will not be credited as they should have been paid at a previous times.
An additonal tax credit for medical cash paid by the "good parent" will be given at 5% for current year court ordered amount. Not eligilbe for tax credit are prior year arrears, fees, and penalties.
Verbal child support agreements will not qualify for the "good parent" tax credit. Only child support cases monitored by state and/or county agencies will qualify for this tax credit.
