Create a government regulated list of legitimate debt collectors in order to protect those in debt from fraud and abuse.

We the people petition Congress & the President to create a government regulated, transparent list of all legitimate debt collection agencies within the United States. The government should regulate & mandate that all legitimate debt collectors must be present on this list in order to collect any debts from any person or persons within the United States. If they do not comply, they should not be allowed to collect debts. As a nation of growing debt and income inequality, people who have debts, whether medically like myself or otherwise, should not be in fear over where their money is going. Such a measure would help curb the problem of widespread fraud and abuse used to gain illegal profits seen nationwide by fake collectors seeking to take advantage of those in troubled financial waters.
