The Affordable Care Act was a good first step in helping to insure people and families that did not have access to health insurance. However, after all the politics got in the way, the act still left a lot to be addressed with the way health insurance is handled in our country. As a full-time employee in a large corporation, I am still seeing my health insurance costs increase every year. Passing laws and restrictions on the health insurance companies is not going to help. They will always find loopholes. The only true way to make health insurance affordable is real competition. If a low-cost, not-for-profit public option were available, these for-profit insurance companies would be forced to figure out how to lower costs or no one would use them. It's that simple. Problem solved!
