create a grandfather clause that allows citizenship to illegal immigrants living and working in the US over 10 years

Created by A.S. on April 28, 2014

There are millions of illegal immigrants working and living in the United States. Many of them have been here for decades and they are law abiding men and women trying to make a better life for their families. There should be a one time grandfather clause allowing those immigrants working and living in the US for more than 10 years a chance to become US citizens (with proper paperwork showing a living and work history dating back all 10 years). It allows them a chance to no longer be fearful of losing their families, jobs and homes. It will also allow the United States to collect taxes from these individuals, hopefully helping to turn the economy around. This could also help minimize the costs spent on border patrol.
