2013 will mark the 150th anniversary of groundbreaking on the first transcontinental railroad. To celebrate the legacy of innovation and economic opportunity that the railroad gave us with the freedom to explore the west, we should build a high speed, energy efficient, and clean rail line linking San Francisco and New York.
China just recently opened the largest rail line in the world, but this line would dwarf it by over a thousand miles.
Come on America, I know you have it in you!
Plus, this would create a ton of jobs, literally across the country.
