We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Create a higher standard for the confinement and treatment of farm animals.

Created by S.Z. on June 21, 2016

The treatment of animals on large or "factory" farms across the nation is unhealthy for not only the animals, but the people consuming them as well. They are for the most part allowed to regulate themselves, allowing anything that is done on a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) to be legal if it is common practice for other CAFOs. This encourages the extreme violation of these animals' rights.

It is commonplace for these "factory farms" to confine their animals in conditions which do not allow them to lay down, stand up, fully extend their limbs, or turn around freely. The purpose of this petition is to change that. I urge you to take notice and stand up for these animals, and consequently for yourselves, by setting standards for the confinement and treatment of farm animals.
