Throughout our history it can be seen the detriment that our ancestors caused to the Native Americans. We think to honor the American Indian they need a holiday just like we have other holidays to celebrate people. Our ancestors nearly wiped out the American Indian. They still survived. We talk about genocide all the time but little do we recognize the fact that it was in our own Country too. These people deserve a day of recognition and respect.
