We want the US government to create an independent body that will advise the government on labor issues, particularly economic related labor issues, such as the minimum wage. This committee will consult with large and small businesses, labor groups, and employees. The independent body would also develop a formal process for deciding the national minimum wage. Overall, the independent body will be similar to the UK's Low Pay Commission, which is an independent body consisting of nine-members that brief the government each Friday on the national minimum wage.
