Abuse, in any shape or form, can be scarring for a lifetime. Did you know that the most twisted and vile serial killers are the ones that were abused as children? Adults that commit the worst of crimes are inspired by the hell that was inflicted upon them in their youth. I knew two people specifically effected by abuse. One of my friends cut herself constantly because of the physical, verbal, and emotional turmoil her mother afflicted upon her. Another simply stopped eating, and had nightmares every night that prevented her from sleeping. She then, too, began to cut herself.
Suicides are also common when there's abuse. If we were to do something, anything, to help people who's life's are being destroyed by child abuse, we could help future victims - that child, or an unlucky stranger.
