If the United States were to convert to the metric system, not only would we finally abolish an age old system that is obsolete in most other nations, but by doing this we would create thousands of jobs in roadwork by changing signs on American highways. The medical field (among other things) also uses the metric system with greater ease in international cases and it is time for the rest of the country to catch up.
