We have all seen the wondrous things that NASA can do with a severely underfunded budget, but we can do more! Create a website for NASA that is modeled after Kickstarter.com which will allow individual citizens to fund individual projects at NASA.
Rewrite the Charitable Donations portion of the tax code to give people the option to donate directly to a NASA project of their choosing with the same tax benefits. This will spur innovation, education, and high-tech job creation within our Nation. This is a surefire way to make sure that American citizens know where their tax dollars are going. This is a win for NASA and for taxpayers.
We have all seen how well-received Kickstarter.com has been in the private sector. Why can't government become just as clever?
