Create labor laws that also protect salaried employees from being abused/overworked on a permanent basis.

Current unemployment has emboldened companies to abuse salaried workers (in fear of not having a job), and instead of creating more jobs, they use the exempt status of salaried workers and demand more man hours from them. I'm not referring to extra work during crunch time- I'm referring to employers decreeing permanent 49 hour work weeks, 6 days a week plus working through holidays like thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day....forever, and without any change in pay or benefits. It's detrimental to family life and does not create new jobs. I am asking for a law that puts some limits to how much a company can demand from a salaried employee...especially on a permanent basis. Currently salaried employees can be exploited because they are not protected, and are not compensated.
