create a law banning the use of religious texts in speeches given in support or in opposition to laws in Congress.

Created by N.L. on December 28, 2013

I suggest the creation of a law that bans any lobbyist, Congressperson, Senator, or other person whom proposes a law within Congress/the Senate from using a quote from any religious text (examples: the Bible, Torah, Quran, and many others) in support of their law or in opposition to a law.

Essentially the idea is to reinforce the thought that no law should respect a religion.

A hypothetical example: An anti-abortion bill proposed to Congress should not be allowed to be defended within Congress using quotes from The Bible or any Holy Texts.

The reasoning and support for any bill should not be allowed to be sourced from a religious text of any sort.
