Recent events across the country show that excessively militarized law enforcement would prefer to "take citizens out," rather than allow them due process. Situations are quickly escalated, particularly for persons of color, often with the result that people are shot and killed for no good reason.
A police department busy hiding and falsifying evidence cannot be trusted to enforce, seek or deliver justice. Hence, the need for an alternate venue.
This commission would investigate issues such as national standards for LE personnel involving background checks, physical, mental and chemical screening (similar to those required to renew CDL's), protocols that focus on community-centered policing
