email has become the major way that people receive information today. They receive bank balances, medial appointment reminders and many other personal communications. People assume that email is private and that when they send an email is safe to do so. This is not the case. Providers like Google and Yahoo routinely scan emails looking for ways to gather info for commercial purpose. Emails are not secure. I petition the government to provide direction to encrypt emails both in transit and at rest. Only by court order should they be available for scanning. email should have consumer protections from prying eyes of business. even is that business offers it for free.
