How is it that a good can be made in China, shipped a world away to the United States, and still be cheaper than if it were made in the United States? The answer is simple, labor costs so low in asian countries that no other market can compete, especially the U.S. The answer to this problem, without repealing our current minimum wage law, is to impose a kind of "tariff" (for a lack of a better word), that madates anything sold in the American market must conform to the American standards of wage for which those products are produced. this will immediately make the U.S. a major competitor again and create a million jobs.
