This petition calls for a change to current laws that allow children to be interrogated without a lawyer present in all but 14 states.
We believe that to prevent false confessions, and to protect the rights of children, these laws need to be changed.
We the people ask that consideration be given to creating a federal law that requires a parent or attorney present before interrogations can begin when a minor is involved in all 50 states.
