Create a law requiring all employers to keep paying regular wages while employee serves mandatory jury duty.

Created by P.B. on May 17, 2014

Only a few states make employers pay regular wages while employee serves mandatory jury duty. Most just pay jurors minimum wage. For most families, this creates an extreme hardship, a huge loss of income that depletes savings and/or increases debt. The burden of maintaining a family's needed income during jury duty could more reasonably be borne by the employer than the employee. Perhaps Congress would give employers a tax break to help them cover this cost.
