Create a law requiring classrooms with non-verbal special needs classrooms to have video/audio monitoring installed.

Created by P.H. on June 16, 2014

Children in special needs classrooms have NO voice of their own. If a child is abused, he/she has no way to tell their side of the story. It ends up being just the word of the alleged offender. This would also offer protection to the staff from overzealous parents. Too many children get mistreated on a daily basis and are unable to tell their parent about their day. If a non-verbal child comes home covered in scrapes and bruises a parent has the right to know what went on. The recordings should be kept for a period of time so they can be reviewed in the event something happens. If we can install cameras on school buses we can install a few more in special needs classrooms.
