Every few months, the news tells another tragic story of a high school-aged girl who went to a party and committed suicide not long after. These girls often got drunk and passed out, only to wake up to find lewd drawings all over their naked body and pictures of the incident circulating their school. They find out over the following days or weeks that they were raped and defenseless. They kill themselves out desperation and humiliation. The media does not report all of these deaths because they are told not to: some people believe that if kids hear about it then it will happen more frequently. However, sexual harassment is more common than many people think. It pervades our society and our schools.
