Affirmative action has benefitted minority groups since the Civil Rights Movement. However, it has disadvantaged others, particularly in college admissions. Colleges are more likely to accept minorities than majority group members, even if the majority is more or equally qualified. Many colleges say that they only ask for race for demographics, but that is suspicious. If they only wanted demographics, they should either have a completely anonymous survey or survey students after they're accepted. Banning affirmative action in college admissions would assure actual equality rather than favoring one group over another.
To Clarify, we don't want race to be a factor AT ALL. This would mean that under the exact same qualifications, each person would have a equal chance to be accepted.
