create a law that would not allow employers to not hire a citizen based on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge

When a employer runs a background check on a future employee and they have a misdemeanor possession of marijuana, this greatly affects their chances of getting hired. There should be a law set n place that would make employees no longer allowed to discriminate against people with misdemeanor marijuana possession charges.
