The depiction of rape and sexual violence is sometimes a necessary part of the storytelling process, but the horrors of these crimes must be included and acknowledged in any depiction. The below standards will go part of the way toward ensuring that sexual violence and rape is not treated simply as entertainment and that the media depict such crimes in a responsible way.
>No nudity or partial nudity can be shown during such scenes to divert from any sensationalization of the act or acts.
>If such scenes will be depicted, there must be a clear RAPE or SEXUAL VIOLENCE rating added in the description and opening.
>Such scenes, including audio/sound, should be limited in length.
>Such scenes should not imply the victim is at fault.
