We the people have a right to marry who we choose without the opposition of any religious bodies.
There are many reasons that marriages that are not between a man and a woman are being blocked: religious organizations stating that it is against their religion, companies attempting to not have to offer insurance to non-married partners, and people with little understanding and a great deal of fear.
With this petition, we ask that all genders be able to marry any consenting adult of any other gender.
We do not ask that churches that oppose "non-traditional" marriage are forced to perform these marriages and wish to allow them to reserve the right to not act against their religion.
Every person deserves to marry the person that they love without having to leave their home state.
