Create laws penalizing the unauthorized disclosure of classified information.

Created by J.V. on January 15, 2013

We need to have more laws penalized the unauthorized disclosure of classified information (UDCI), specifically in the classification levels of SECRET, and CONFIDENTIAL. The current laws allow a maximum penalty of 3 years imprisonment and $10,000 fine. SECRET information is defined as information that the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause serious damage to the national security of the United States. Where as the charge of Espionage, is considered a capital offense. Stricter laws regarding classified information at the SECRET and CONFIDENTIAL level, not just the TS/SCI level will deter and lessen the number of UDCI we have, increasing the security of our nation.
