create laws to protect the children being raised by their grandparents and other relatives.

Created by J.G. on October 09, 2011

Children being raised by their grandparents or relatives outside the foster care system need laws to protect them. We need to change the laws from protecting the absent parents to protecting these children. We need to ensure that a "best interest of the child" formula is followed in custody issues instead of parental rights coming first.
Approximately 500,000 children are in foster care with laws and people to protect them. Over 3 million children living with relatives have no protection.
It is time that we stepped forward to protect these children instead of protecting the parents. When does a parent lose their parental rights? These parents gave up their rights when they left their child.
No age, race or social standing are exempt from this. Please help to protect our children!
