In many cities in the country having a parking spot is a privilege for a select few due to the price parking garages charge. The middle class and the poor in this country who own cars are at the mercy of cities who use parking enforcement as a tool for revenue often hiring independent contractors who are for-profit to write parking tickets, this should be illegal.
People should not be punished for not having the money to afford their own personal parking space. I am asking the Obama administration to address the use of parking meters which since as far back as 1937 (Source Wikipedia) people have been fighting their legality.
I don't even own a car and one of the main reasons is parking meters and related enforcement, let's not punish the poor and middle class.
