In the wake of the recent security breach of their computer systems (purportedly orchestrated with the involvement of the government of North Korea) Sony Pictures has decided not to release The Interview, a satirical film about North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Sony cites the unwillingness of theater owners to screen the film after further terroristic threats. Specifically, the theater owners are worried about their legal and financial liability in the event that a threatened terror attack did take place and harmed or killed moviegoers.
