Create legislation that requires employers to pay employees for time spent entering or exiting work if the amount of time required is over 10 minutes. The employer can and should provide adequate personnel to staff the entrances and exits to minimize the time required by the employee to enter/leave.
Also the employer should be required to pay for the time required for an employee to dress or undress if the clothing or safety equipment is required for the job and cannot be done off premise.
These activities show that the employer is in control of the employee and infringe upon the employees free time therefore the employee must be compensated.
