Create legislation that will amend marriage brokerage and contribute to the end of "mail order brides."

The TLC show “90 Day Fiance” has brought new attention to the topic of “mail order brides” in the United States. Although the IMBRA of 2005 protects women from men who have records of violence, we feel that this is not enough. Brokers and men involved in this industry are objectifying and demeaning women to a commodity that can be exchanged. Websites and agencies specialize in “matching” men and women from various countries, as well as “international tours” for male clients to meet single women from other countries. These companies utilize women “unspoiled by feminism” because male client are usually looking for submissive wives to fit the “traditional” caretaker mold. We move that “mail order brides” is “a softer version of human trafficking” and should be ended in the United States.
