Govt. loan gaurantees directly to consumers would allow millions to purchase electric cars and solar/wind home power at lower than alternative costs, creating millions of jobs, cutting pollution, cutting the trade deficit be decreasing our reliance on foreign oil and eventually spurring worldwide sales of American electric cars and solar panels/wind power generation. This would also consume manufacturing capacity that is currently not in use and cause an increase in R/D. The Increased productivity would increase the tax base dramatically and decrease the national budget deficit without raising tax rates. And the creator of this petition should be nominated for a Nobel prize in Economics for creating this plan (never hurts to ask).
