Currently the price of gasoline is expected to top $5.00 a gallon this summer. This is unacceptable to most Americans.
This petition proposes that certain milestones be set out by thee current administration to place an emphasis on alternative energy vehicles. This would create more jobs in the American automotive industry, reduce our dependance on foreign oil and create a cleaner environment.
The mandate would stipulate that by 2050 100% of new vehicles produced would be of alternative energy design. This time frame would equate to roughly the following:
2021 - 25% of all new American automobiles produced would be alternative energy
2031 - 50%
2041 - 75%
2050 - 100%
This time frame allows for the infrastructure to be built and the cost of the vehicles to be reduced.
