While the number of high school students deciding not to attend college has decreased over the past few years, there is still only a graduation rate of 75.5%. Though this may seem high, it means that one in four students will not continue their education on to college. While there are many factors that contribute to a student declining to apply to college, a huge deterrent is the extremely complicated and confusing application process. By creating mandatory, after-school sessions catered to high school seniors, it will relieve some of the pressure many of these students feel when trying to complete these applications. These sessions would focus on essay writing, filling out the application forms and showing them the many benefits of attending college or university.
