Create a medal for veterans with PTSD resulting from combat action.

Created by T.R. on January 18, 2013

We are asking for the creation of a medal similar to the Purple Heart in purpose but for veterans who developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after combat action. Inclusion of PTSD under the Purple Heart is a viable option as well. A Purple Heart is not authorized for combat related PTSD which can be more debilitating than many physical injuries. Many veterans with PTSD are unable to work or even properly care for themselves due to it's effects. We believe it is time to recognize PTSD as an injury that is just as severe as any other injury covered by the Purple Heart. Veterans with combat related PTSD deserve our recognition for being injured while serving our country and protecting the freedom of these United States.
