Daniel Shays deserves a memorial in Washington D.C. Daniel Shays was a Revolutionary War veteran, farmer, and leader of Shays' Rebellion. Shays' actions, in 1787, directly lead to the creation and implementation of the U.S. Constitution. During his life, Shays saw a problem within our country and advocated to fix it. He worked hard for his family, community, and country. He embodies so much of what we teach to our citizens today; that every American should learn to stand up for others and speak for the people. He is an important part of American History and his role in it should be recognized. Due to his actions, he deserves to have a memorial in Washington D.C. If we, as a country, respect and honor our system of laws and our Revolution, we need a memorial to the man who helped shape both
