Create a memorial stamp in honor of the late Dennis Ritchie, who is credited with "shaping the digital era."

The late Dennis Ritchie was a pioneer in the field of computing. He created the C programming language which is the basis of the vast majority of software today. He was the co-creator of the Unix operating system, from which Linux and MacOS were branched.
Mr. Ritchie was awarded the National Medal of Technology in 1998 by President Clinton; the citation with the medal stated "...led to enormous advances in computer hardware, software, and networking systems and stimulated growth of an entire industry, thereby enhancing American leadership in the Information Age."
His contributions to our way of life have not received the recognition and gratitude that they deserve. He was not a show-man in the way of others in his industry, and thus was not in the limelight. But he needs to be honored.
