Citizens and government officials of certain states, especially the State of Texas, have discussed the possibility of leaving the Union of the United States. This has occurred over decades without formal action. This petition requests that the President of the United States work to create a system whereby residents of other states can vote or petition to allow the State of Texas to leave the American Union or, in the alternative, expel Texas from the Union. This new system should be centered on an online petition method that would be legally binding and have methods to verify the validity of citizen's petition signatures. If, in the event the citizens of other states petition in sufficient numbers, Texas would leave the Union voluntarily or be expelled, with the right of appeal.
