create micro-business set-asides to help businesses smaller than those defined in the small business set asides

Created by M.B. on September 22, 2011

Small business set asides are usually for businesses that generate at least $7 M per year, however most of the really small businesses that could benefit are one or two person shops that usually only generate $500 k per year.

Oftentimes, I come across jobs that I could handle at a local Army base, but have been thankfully told by some of the larger contractors and the base business development office that I'm just too small.

Opening up government contracting possibilities to micro businesses could help drive down costs, increase innovation and help with unemployment across the country.
