The Works Progress Administration (WPA) was a government agency that employed millions of Americans during the Great Depression.
WPA jobs included construction and arts & literacy projects.
It fed children and redistributed food, clothing, and housing.
Almost every community had a park, bridge or school built by the WPA.
The WPA budget in 1935 was about 6.7% of GDP. Between 1935 and 1943, the WPA provided almost 8 million jobs.

Re-establish the WPA to strengthen America's infrastructure and prepare for the future.
Use the opportunity to create green jobs, build high speed rail, build a faster internet system, modernize our water and electric utility systems, clean up run down areas, and prepare for emergencies.
The President should support this.
